Hello, my name is Gregg. Yesterday in our english II class, as we first arrived, we did our journal entry which was discussing our opinions about what women in the 1800s had to do and how would it feel to us having to do everything a woman had to do. After we completed our journal entry, we took our notes. While we were taking our notes, our teacher Mrs.Smyth walked us through discussing what were writing. She was giving us many good examples that were letting us just imagine what were writing. She also let us share our own opinions to her and our classmates. Well this was pretty much what we did today. We thank you for reading about our class.

Today was my birthday!!!!! Today was also the introduction day for the illuminated text project. The first thing we did when we got to class today was look at some examples of illuminated text projects from random people and some people from the ninth grade. After giving us an idea of what illuminated text was, Mrs. Smyth explained it to us to help us get a better understanding. Once we had an understanding of it we chose our partners and started on the assignment. That was all we did today, can’t wait to see what’s in store for fabulous Friday tomorrow!!!!!!

Hi, I’m Kadijah and today i will be your class historian reviewing Friday. As usually class stared off with the historian which was Dijah reading what we did Thursday. Then we started on our journals on moodle. The class then went back to working on the project we were assigned, which is do on Monday. Hope everyone one is finish. I can’t wait for me and Lashonda to present ours, it’s really good. Well that’s all that happen, so enough said it’s your girl kadijah signing off. Bye!!!!!

Today in Mrs.Smyth class we took a quiz on the computer and everyone did pretty good on it. We also talked about the book “Things Fall Apart” which we finish reading for homework last night. We reflected back on the last chapter in the book and we had a big discussion about what happen in the last chapter as well. At the end of the book Okwonkwo end up hanging himself but to me either way he was going to die because he had people looking for him ready to kill him. Stress will make you do some crazy stuff if you don’t believe me read the book “Things Fall Apart” and that will be a prime example of what I’m sort of talking about. We worked on our lit circle discussions for fifteen minutes. Everyone behavior today was on point and everyone seemed focused. Today went by fast because we had early release for report card pick up. Tomorrow our writing Tic-Tac-Toe is due and that’s it for now folks.

10/20/09 Class Historian Report

Today we went over our Lit Circles from two days ago. After the lit circle Makedah read her summary aloud to the class. As a class we created a venn diagram as a class on Okonkwo and Obierika. I found it interesting how for them to be best friends they are really different. I kind of should have known this already because my best friend Allison and I have a lot of similarities but can be strangly different. Then Ms. Smyth gave a group assignment to complete. Ms. Smyth then gave us a group project where we had to compare and contrast Mr. Brown and Mr. Smith. Everyone’s group had something different but they were all interesting. As we rotated tables Ms. Smyth had us leave comments for each table.

Hola!! Yesterday Mrs. Smyth wasn’t there and we had a sub. We did some worksheets on Okonkwo. The class was very quiet. I like when we do group work and yestrday we had to work alone and I don’t like it that way.Well I would talk some more but I don’t have any more to talk about.TTYL and Get Well Soon MRS. Yesterday we startded the day off by doing a journal. The journal was about what Ms. Smyth could do to help with our AAAWWUUBBIS Children Books. That reminds me they are due today! After that we started on our Lit-Circle group discussions. My group was suppose to record but we had a little problem that prevented us to record. The class out of control talking started up and again Ms. Smyth was disappointed. Guys we really need to work on that and stop taking stuff as a joke it we want to get through life. We ended the day off with a test on Chapters 14-19 in Things Fall Apart. I hope everyone did their best on that test. Remeber don’t settle for less! Peace

On Monday, we had something like a free day. Ms.Smyth let us work on the missing assignments that we needed to do. She also checked over the students who did finish their AAAWWUUBBIS Children’s Book. It was very interesting. The book that I created is called “Jordan Gets in Trouble”. I think that the children’s book would turn out to be a good idea and project. That’s basically it. Im out.!

Today in Ms. Smyth’s class it wasn’t very long because we had PSAT’s . We only had 30 minutes in each class. For the little time we had Ms. Smyth had us to do these awesome writing portfolios and work on filling them out and filling them with all our work that we had done. Well there isn’t much left to say because we really didn’t have any time so once again I’m out!!!!!!!!

We spent the first fifteen of class finishing our drawings from yesterday. After we finished that everyone rotated tables and left comments on the pictures. My personal favorites were Makedah’s group and Shalay’s group because they kept everything interesting and their pictures were well detailed. Later we read the “White Man’s Burden” by Rudyard Kipling, which was kind of racist towards African people. As everyone expressed their feelings it kind of made me think of how lucky we are with what we have and don’t even care about it. I spend so much time thinking of my own problems and all of my friends problems that I often forget to think of all the people who are dying everyday. Now that I think of this I realize how selfish that makes me. Ms. Smyth did a great job because I really learnt something from today’s class lesson. Well I don’t feel like typing what I think anyone I’m going to sign off. See you soon. Bye.
